7:30 PM August 4, 2009 - Jane Green "Dune Road" at Just Books
Dune Road / Girl Friday (UK version)
Just Books is pleased to welcome Connecticut author Jane Green as she introduces her newest novel Dune Road (Viking Adult; $25.95), at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, at Just Books, 28 Arcadia Road, Old Greenwich, Conn. Dune Road is set in the beach community of a tony Connecticut town. The heroine is a single mom who works for a famous-and famously reclusive-novelist. When she stumbles on a secret that the great man has kept hidden for years, she knows that there are plenty of women in town who would love to get their hands on it-including some who fancy the writer for themselves.
Jane Green Warburg, who writes as Jane Green, was born in London and has lived in Connecticut for seven years. One of the founding writers behind the genre known as 'chick lit', Green now writes novels that reflect the lives of real women today, with all the trials and tribulations that come with real life: from in-laws, motherhood, mid-life crises and loss, all of which are told with Green's trademark warmth, wit and wisdom. Jane Green's last novel, The Beach House, was an instant New York Times bestseller and captured her largest audience yet. From the sunny green lawns of Connecticut to the cafes of London to the sandy beaches of Nantucket, Green draws from her own life to craft each delicious story and the resulting tales resonate with women everywhere. Green is the winner of a Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Fiction Award and a contributor to the most recent Chicken Soup for the Soul: Power Moms book. She lives with her husband, Ian Warburg, and their blended families of six children, in Connecticut, where her passions are food, gardening and throwing parties.
