Dear Readers
Wow, summer just flew by. What a summer it was! Nice warm days with wonderfully cool "sleeping nights" and enough rain to keep the hose in the garage. Summer is drawing to a close and kids will soon be back-in-school - we hope you all had an enjoyable, relaxing and book filled summer.
ur summer author visits were fun! We had Billie Letts return to tell us about her latest fun novel, Shoot the Moon and Linda Greenlaw returned for a third time to further regale us with her salty tales. Local author MJ Rose had a great Sunday afternoon signing at Just Books and was one of our bestsellers of the summer.
We have a really exciting fall line-up and we are just thsrilled to include three Greenwich authors! Rosemary Wells, Bob Button and Elizabeth Bush will all be visiting to sign their new books! How fun! We're still working on some late fall events but we think there's enough here to keep people busy for awhile.
We had so much fun this summer showing movies in the store in Old Greenwich. We hope that you all had as much fun as we did. We'll be looking for suggestions for next year's list … when we get closer to next summer!
There are a lot of political books out and many more to come before (and after) the impending election. We try to buy as broadly as possible - and we, inevitably, miss a few. While the displays may look unbalanced they are, in fact, a fair representation of what is available. We do our best to represent a broad and unbiased viewpoint and see that as our job as booksellers. If we don't have what you are looking for - we can order what you need.
Finally, Katie Krauss, the manager of Just Books, will be moving to Boulder, CO at the end of September. Katie has been working at Just Books for a long time - longer than we have owned Just Books! Steve Smith, who has been managing Just Books, Too, will be moving back to Just Books. Jenny, of course, will be at both stores but will be the manager of Just Books, Too. Stop in and wish Katie well in her next venture in life!
Get ready for a wild fall - we have something for literally everyone.
Jenny, Thomas, Thomas and Nicholas Lawton
