Dear Readers,
It's Spring! Finally! The trees and flowers are in bloom and people can finally start their beach reading! The spring and summer lists look great - there are a lot of great books on the horizon. We're working hard to bring in a list of authors to give you a mix of the well-known and the new. We highly recommend sampling some of the newer authors.
You'll notice some change in both stores. Steve Smith is going to be moving back to our Old Greenwich location and Richard Sabbia will be full-time in Greenwich. Jenny will be splitting her time between the two stores again, now that she is caught up from her time out of the stores. You can usually find Jenny in Greenwich on Tuesday and Thursday and somewhere in Old Greenwich on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
We're starting to plan two big book launch parties. Our Harry Potter Party is back by popular demand (and by the fact that the new book is publishing this summer). We will open the Harry Potter doors at 7 PM on July 14 and close them when the line ends after midnight. We'll show the Harry Potter movies, have Harry Potter food and drink and Harry Potter trivia. We'll have Harry Potter Gift Cards, so you can order your special Harry Potter fan a book in advance, and sign-up sheets for the party. Please sign up early for the party so that your child does not miss out.
On August 22, we will be having a Medieval Feast in celebration of the release of Christopher Paolini's much awaited Eldest (the follow-on of Eragon). Again, we'll open the doors at 7 PM and this time we'll have an "eat with your hands" feast and show the movie The Knight's Tale. There will be a $10 fee for the Eldest party to cover the cost of the feast! Please sign up early for this party as there will be limited seating.
Enjoy the beautiful sun and warm weather - stop in to see what's new and what our staff is reading. We're all excited about the upcoming season!
Happy spring!
Jenny, Thomas, Thomas and Nicholas Lawton
